INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Blythe Potter, a candidate for Indiana Secretary of State, has called on her Democratic primary opponent, Beau Bayh, to return a $25,000 campaign contribution from billionaire Marc Rowan.

Rowan is the CEO of Apollo Global Management and a notable Republican donor. He was recently appointed to the executive board of the President's Board of Peace, an advisory body created by President Donald Trump to address the future of Gaza. The board's formation has been criticized for excluding Palestinian representatives.

In a statement, Potter questioned the influence of such contributions. "Hoosiers deserve to know who candidates are really accountable to," Potter said. "If Beau Bayh wants to run as a champion for Indiana voters, he should start by returning money from Trump-aligned billionaires who sit on advisory boards and bankroll the Republican agenda."

Potter cited recent campaign finance reports showing Bayh has received $310,000 from donors who have also contributed to Republicans, $140,000 from donors identified as supporters of Trump's "MAGA" movement, and $615,000 from out-of-state individuals.

"This race is about whether Indiana's elections serve everyday Hoosiers or Washington, D.C., insiders," Potter added.

Potter (pictured), an Army veteran and small business owner from Bargersville, is positioning herself as a grassroots candidate focused on voter participation and reducing outside influence in state elections.

Beau Bayh, a former state official and member of a prominent Indiana political family, is also seeking the Democratic nomination for Secretary of State. The office oversees elections and business registration in Indiana. As of this reporting, the Bayh campaign has not publicly responded to Potter's demand to return the Rowan contribution.

The primary election will be held on May 5, 2026.
